Stone Federation is collaborating with leading architects, Squire & Partners to create a bespoke natural stone installation for the Surface Design Show, the UK’s leading event for architects and designers to explore the best in surface materials.

This is the second year that the natural stone industry’s trade association has collaborated with the team at Squire & Partners and following the success of the 2020 Stone Tapestry, the 2022 installation has been moved to the heart of the Surface Design Show.

This year’s installation will focus on locality, process, application and the reuse of stone – in line with the show’s theme of sustainability – and showcase some of the impressive materials that are quarried in the UK.

As specifiers become increasingly aware that a ‘business as usual’ approach to the carbon impacts of architecture and construction is no longer an option, there is a fresh drive to consider the alternatives.  The Stone Tapestry is a key part of the ongoing conversation around using natural stone to deliver a more sustainable built environment.

Stone Federation invites architectural and design industry professionals to join for the launch of The Stone Tapestry which will take place at 7.30pm on Tuesday 8 February. This will provide an opportunity to hear from both Squire & Partners and Stone Federation as well as explore the installation.
