The Natural Stone Show is back at the ExCeL centre in London on 6-8 June this year co-locating with Hard Surfaces. Normally held every other year, the events were cancelled in 2021 due to Covid.
This year they return a little after their previous spring dates in order to benefit from the full opening of the Elizabeth Line railway across London, which means ExCeL can be reached from the centre of London in minutes (less than quarter of an hour from Kings Cross, 10 minutes from Liverpool Street and less than three-quarters of an hour from Heathrow).
Since the previous Show in 2019 a lot has happened, in particular a resurgence in natural stone led by decorative quartzites, mostly from Brazil.
The Natural Stone Show is supported by Stone Federation Great Britain, which will, once again, have a major presence at the show with many of its members representing the full spectrum of the stone industry in the UK, joining it.
The Hard Surfaces collaboration with the Natural Stone Show is in recognition of the fact that stone fabricators and the tiling industry use an ever-expanding and developing range of man-made products as well as natural stones – with products like Iris Ceramica Group’s super-hygienic photocatalytic ceramic surfaces containing titanium dioxide with added silver.
The exhibitors are showing materials for horizontal and vertical surfaces for interiors and exteriors, products for fixing, finishing, cleaning and maintaining them, and the machines, tools and consumables used for processing them.
The Shows also both have a comprehensive seminar programme and workshops to inspire the stone and tile industry and its customers, and to answer general or project specific questions.
There will be plenty of new natural and engineered materials to see, including innovations being shown by MaterialDistrict from the Netherlands, which will have more than 100 internationally-sourced surfaces offering unexpected performance and novel aesthetics featured for their light weight, sustainable and recycled content, durability or other distinct properties and visual appeal.
Visitors to the Shows will be able to see the ‘Industry Choice’ winner among the award-winning projects from December’s Stone Federation Great Britain Natural Stone Awards and meet the ‘Emerging Talent’ who you can expect to be making a difference in the years ahead.
You can see exhibitor lists, and check out the seminar programmes and features at the exhibitions at www.stoneshow.co.uk and www.hardsurfaces.co.uk.
