PALACE CHEMICALS AND LATICRETE HELP £12MILLION CHRISTMAS TREE SPARKLE

Tiling solutions from Palace Chemicals and LATICRETE UK have been used in the creation of the world’s most expensive Christmas tree, worth a staggering £12million.

Tiling solutions from Palace Chemicals and LATICRETE UK have been used in the creation of the world’s most expensive Christmas tree, worth a staggering £12million.

Grout and adhesive from Palace Chemicals and LATICRETE UK, based in Liverpool, were used on 30 of the intricately-crafted decorations, which were part of the extravagant 19ft spruce that is currently wowing guests at the five-star Kempinski Hotel Bahia in Marbella, Spain.

Mosaic artist David Arnott, who helped to decorate the tree, is sponsored by the two firms and uses their products on all of his stunning creations.

David’s designs have already included the world’s most expensive roulette table, valued at $4.5 million.

The lavish tree, which is guarded 24/7, features baubles adorned with Cartier and Chanel jewellery and was commissioned by designer Debbie Wingham.

David used the same concept of mixing diamond dust with LATICRETE UK’s SPECTRALOCK PRO Premium which he used on the roulette table.

He also used SPECTRALOCK Dazzle, which adds glow-in-the-dark elements to SPECTRALOCK PRO Premium as well as LATICRETE platinum, silver, white, midnight black and raven SPECTRALOCK PRO Premium grout, and Palace Chemicals’ Grab & Fix polymer adhesive.

David waterproofed the pieces, which include champagne bottles, snowflakes, Chanel bottles, hearts and art deco fans, using LATICRETE HYDRO BAN liquid tanking membrane.

David said: “We were making decorations for months. It’s absolutely brilliant to be involved.”

Charles Clapham, Managing Director of Palace Chemicals and LATICRETE UK, said: “We are always astounded by David’s creations. We’re glad our products have enabled him to contribute towards such a lavish design.”

There will be a black-tie event held between Christmas and New Year in which the Christmas tree will be taken down, watched by various celebrity guests.
